Join Panera Bread and the Cleveland Clinic in the fight against breast cancer by purchasing Pink Ribbon bagels during the month of October at Panera Bread.

From Monday, October 1st through Wednesday, October 31st, the 37 Northeast Ohio Panera Bread bakery-cafes will donate a portion of proceeds from each Pink Ribbon bagel sold to the breast cancer survivorship programs at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute.

In addition, a competition between Cleveland and Pittsburgh will take place during the month of October. All Cleveland community members are encouraged to support their city and breast cancer awareness by purchasing Pink Ribbon bagels. The city who purchases the most Pink Ribbon bagels in October will receive an additional $10,000 charity donation from Panera Bread/Covelli Enterprises.

"Panera Bread is honored to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. This campaign is about doing our part in helping to provide resources to programs for those who have already been affected by breast cancer," said Sam Covelli, Owner/Operator of Covelli Enterprises. "We are proud that all proceeds raised by this campaign will support breast cancer survivors locally in the Cleveland community."

The Cleveland Clinic will host an October Educational Series at the Panera Bread bakery cafes. Community members are invited to learn about Breast Cancer Awareness and Education at the events facilitated by Iyaad Hasan, CNP and Rene Barrat-Gordon, LISW. The events will take place from 6pm - 7pm at the following locations: Medina (October 10th); North Olmsted (October 17th).

Shaped in the form of the iconic pink ribbon, Pink Ribbon bagels feature cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, vanilla, honey, and brown sugar, and are baked fresh early each morning by Panera's bakers at each bakery-café. This is the second year the Cleveland area Panera Bread bakery-cafes are supporting the breast cancer survivorship programs through the sale of the Pink Ribbon Bagels.

During the months of September and October, the Cleveland Clinic is the recipient of the Operation Doughnation canisters in each of the Cleveland area bakery-cafes. All money raised will support the breast cancer survivorship programs at the Cleveland Clinic.
